PRETTY GIRL WITH A CLEAVER

°Why do you want to use a cleaver for a nude series?°  - asked the model. Why, indeed? I do not know. But I can rationalize and give a couple of reasons, which are both reasonable and wrong. First, a cleaver is  a butcher's axe and, as such, something one does not expect a pretty girl would use (but why not?). Second, nakedness is the ultimate state of vulnerabilty. One thinks that a balance has to be created, indicating that the pretty naked girl might not be as defenceless as she seems.

The observant viewer will notice references to women in Minoic Crete, to Louise Brooks, to Balthus, to Klimt, to Quentin Tarantino.
